Kravis Center to Host Free National Dance Day Celebration September 19
West Palm Beach's premier performing arts venue turns into a citywide dance floor for a day, offering free workshops for every age and skill level.
The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is hosting National Dance Day on Saturday, September 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., serving as the official host site for the nationwide celebration.
The free event, emceed by CBS12 anchor Sam Kerrigan, offers a full lineup of expert-led dance workshops and classes spanning hip-hop, jazz funk, ballroom, theater dance, open-level ballet, African dance, country fusion line dance, and contemporary dance. The day kicks off with a community marketplace and group warm-up at 11 a.m., runs through individual workshops and classes in the early afternoon, and wraps with a group performance of the official National Dance Day routine from 3:15 to 4 p.m. A dedicated Kids Zone runs throughout the event, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is free, and parking in the Kravis Center's garage is also free for the event, though registration is required and admission into specific workshops isn't guaranteed given expected demand. Organizers say all ages and skill levels are welcome, and specific featured instructors will be announced closer to the date.
