Boynton Beach Pirate Fest Sets Sail Halloween Weekend
The free, two-day Halloween tradition takes over downtown Boynton Beach with a pirate encampment, a mermaid grotto, live cannon performances, and a haunted trail, all just in time for the holiday.
The Boynton Beach Pirate Fest & Mermaid Splash returns to Centennial Park & Amphitheater, 120 E. Ocean Ave., on Saturday, October 31, from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday, November 1, from noon to 6 p.m. Admission is free.
Now well into its second decade as a downtown tradition, the festival transforms Ocean Avenue into a swashbuckling street party with live music on multiple stages, roaming pirates and mermaids, and live cannon performances throughout the day. Kids get their own dedicated Lil' Scallywag Kid Zone, while braver visitors can head into the Pirate Encampment for axe throwing, sword fighting demonstrations, and, after dark Saturday night, a haunted trail. The Enchanted Market showcases local and regional vendors selling everything from handmade jewelry to nautical-themed goods, and past years have paired the market with a treasure hunt sending attendees to participating downtown businesses for a chance at prize gift cards.
Organizers encourage attendees to dress the part in pirate, mermaid, or nautical costumes, fitting for an event that leans fully into its Halloween-weekend timing. Local food trucks and vendors round out the offerings, and the event has historically run a free shuttle service to help with parking, along with designated ADA parking near the festival grounds.
